Azure Cloud Architect

New Iron is seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Architect for a contract-to-hire role in Austin, TX.

Our client is seeking to enhance the scalability of their API and re-architect it to minimize cloud costs.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in architecting cloud-native scalable and performant APIs, .NET programming, and implementing cost-effective solutions in Azure.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and design scalable and cost-effective cloud solutions using .NET technologies.
  • Evaluate our current cloud infrastructure and identify areas for optimization to reduce costs.
  • Lead the re-architecting efforts to refactor existing applications and services to optimize resource utilization.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies to reduce Azure cloud spend while ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Monitor system performance metrics and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement scalable solutions for growing systems.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure in Azure, including provisioning, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of cloud infrastructure management, with a focus on Azure.
  • Strong background in .NET/C# development
  • Proven track record of re-architecting applications to reduce cloud costs while maintaining performance and scalability.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles, including infrastructure as code, microservices, and serverless computing.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, etc.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
